TURNAROUND . }} and catch a falling starwish you may, wish you might[ - have that girl you dream of tonight - ] Other Akatsuki member sightings thus far: none. Feigned innocence: twice. Got lost: eleven times. Luck: infinite.
It had been a few days - possibly more, she wasn't exactly sure - since Kiore had abandoned her village, and became a missing-nin. Along with joining a group of infamous s-ranked criminals, and gaining their leader as a sensei; Kiore thought she had done pretty, f'ing, d*amn good. Of course, since Cloud had left her at the clearing and went to God only knows where with that small girl she hadn't even talked to, back in the clearing with the lake, giving her only directions to the Akatsuki base - Kiore had been at a loss as to what she was suppose to do. So she had figured, as soon as she was alone, that she should at least gain the attire of one missing-nin that has style. Because she'd be d**ned once she wore that darn cloak with it's darn red clouds, so why not live it up? And so, she had traveled to the closest village that she supposed was neutral, and brought the necessities that she would need. Of course she had access to her fortune, all she had needed was a bank. And that she found, easily enough.
She still had the same black vest with a white top under it, but now she wore short, black skin tight pants with a black skirt like apron over them, that was split on either sides for easier movement. She now wore the classic kunoichi style black boots, though they were much longer - reaching past her knees and a few centimeters past it. Strapped to her thy, still, was a kunai holster - and on the back of her skirt, a weapons pouch. A few scrolls were noticeable (one of which contained everything she had brought, earlier that week), and a larger one was strapped to her back. Her was was still, down like always, and she wore black leather gloves - though the fingers had been cut off. One very noticeable item about her, that anyway would recognize, was the Konoha forehead protector, tied around her left thy; it had a scratch through the symbol, stating her as a missing-nin. Kiore couldn't remember when she had done it, though. The past few days had been a blur for her, she was always thinking about other things.
Approaching the base with caution, though careful not to look suspicious, Kiore kept a calm demeanor - almost bored looking. All I need now is for one of them to attack, she though with a dry laugh, making sure to concentrate on an chakra signatures that could be close enough to her they might be a threat. She was walking into an uncertain future; possibly death. She couldn't help but mentally check if she had done everything she wanted to, in life. Of course, she hadn't... because she hadn't yet had the chance to kick her parent's asses, along with the rest of the Clan - excluding her Aunt and Uncle. Though, that was for another time.

Cloud appeared behind kiore his blade to his side and drawn, blood dripped from it... "good your just in time for your first training..." Clouds robe fell to the ground exposing his new cursed seal on his abs... He was well toned and quite handsome, his hands came up to take a guard.
"first lesson taijutsu... use whatever weapons you want, no jutsu allowed. Try to just scratch me... if you can scratch me you pass." Cloud said coldly disappearing behind her in a emense and incrediable speed. His hand aimed directly for her sholder to push her to the ground in one swift movement.
"You wont touch me today though... latter perhaps." cloud said as his blond hair blew in the wind.... He wore pure black jounin pants that had cuts in the legs.
ooc; sorry for shortness - exhasted.

TURNAROUND . }} and catch a falling starwish you may, wish you might[ - have that girl you dream of tonight - ] Luck: suddenly died on me.
Kiore recognized the chakra signature of the man behind her instantly, before he even spoke - and she couldn't help but mutter, "just my luck," under her breath, before she smirked. "Sensei, I haven't seen you in a while," she chuckled, feigning surprise with a lopsided, cute grin as she glanced over her shoulder at him. She had a feeling he wasn't one for idle chit chat, so she merely listened to what he said, and nodded her head once to show that she had acknowledged them. This was definitely different to her training sessions with Kisuke, and even Zaraki.
Kisuke was more so the logic, and the developing techniques side of her training. And Zaraki was the man who attacked her out of the blue - whether or not she was exhausted, after they were returning from a harsh mission; he still try to surprise her, heck, he even tried it in public once - it didn't go down too well with the Hokage. Assessing her options, Kiore pushed the memories from her mind and focused on his words. No jutsu, only taijutsu and weapons. Joy.
Training with one unbelievably strong, Cloud Uchiha... suddenly seemed very, very frightening to her. Kiore huffed, pouting slightly, before taking her stance. He was behind her, before she registered the fact though - and she only had enough time to spin around so that she was face to face with him; eyes calculating as she skid backwards on the ground, her stance still ready as she took out a kunai. Spinning it on her index finger for a moment as she summarized what she knew about Cloud and his techniques.
Only one thought came to mind, and that was that his strength surpassed hers. A lot. "That's an encouraging thought," she muttered, and she disappeared into the trees - hiding her chakra signature as she attempted to come at him from a different angle. Taking out an explosive note and attaching it to a kunai, Kiore threw it with enough force that any regular Jounin would have a hard time seeing it, and activated it once was close enough to him that he would have to jump back to avoid it. The explosion wasn't huge, but it was enough for anyone to need to avoid it.
How in the name of God, am I suppose to put a scratch on him, anyways? she scowled, appearing behind Cloud, out of the cover of the trees, before crouching down and swiping her leg around, attempting to unbalance him. He has that much bloody chakra, he's faster than Nii-sama, he has the Uchiha bloodline limit; if I wasn't in my position, I'd be d*mn well laughing at the sheer unrealism of this.
ooc;; -snickers- i haven't done a role play fight scene. -pets Kiore- I'm so very, very sorry.

ooc; haha you did very well, better then me even) Ic; He disappeared in great speed actually moving faster then he had shown her he could before. Avoiding the explosive note and the kick she did at him ." Not bad, kiore I like the way you fight up close and personal."He then appeared 3 inchs from her his fist moved incredibly fast towards her stomach however he was holding back on his speed probably moving at the rate of a average kage. His speed was greater then that, especially in his new sealed form.
Clouds fist struck 3 strikes at her, strikes that surely wouldnt kill her, he didnt want her dead. If one of his strikes hit her it would hurt greatly and probally break a few bones but it surely wouldnt kill her especially with the medical informants on notice. It would take them less then 3 seconds to get there and save her.
"Fight to kill me kiore." Cloud said as he disappeared and kicked towards her back. His huge blade hung from his back, it shined with a thrist for blood... kiores blood. No he would not use it, perhaps he would only use his fist.

TURNAROUND . }} and catch a falling starwish you may, wish you might[ - have that girl you dream of tonight - ] Gathering chakra in her arms, to strengthen her bones and prevent them from breaking upon force, Kiore blocked Cloud's first attempt to hit her stomach - managing somehow, and only because he wasn't using his full strength. Kiore's eyes widened as she tried to lock onto his movements - wishing that her d*mn Clan actually did have a bloodline limit, like the Hyuuga's or Uchiha's; dodging the first two strikes from Cloud, narrowly. She couldn't manage to block the next one, however, as his fist connected with her stomach, having not the time or reflexes to dodge it - his speed wasn't human. Well, ninja-ish, at that. Her body was sent limply through the air, but she caught herself in time, landing on the ground with a graceful flip. Blood trailed out from the corner of her mouth, and down her chin. "Well, f*ck," she growled, glaring at him as she wiped the blood off with the back of her hand. Unconsciously, chakra gathered in her body to begin healing the wounds - medical jutsu, Rukia had imprinted it in her brain years ago that it was vital. Kiore noticed the green glow from her stomach and frowned; it wasn't offensive jutsu, so it would be allowed, right?
She worries about the rules! Ha! Her alter ego chuckled maniacally in her head, and Kiore winced at the sound of it. Here you are, about to be beaten to a bloody pulp, by some out-of-this-world-almighty male; and you're worried about the rules? Kiore couldn't help but agree, as she managed to lock onto his movements; spinning in the air, to dodge his kick would have surely broken something important. Her movements were like a dance, in a way... a lethal dance of graceful and precise taijutsu moves, with a 'Kiore style' to them. It would put any ballerina to shame, Kajaal had noted once. I need a weapon, Kiore thought, mentally going over her supplies. I need a sword. She turned swift on her hands, and attempted take a swiping kick at Cloud's side. You only have shuriken, kunai, explosive notes and medical supplies, he alter ego reminded her. I know that, Kiore bit back. I also have a lot of scrolls, but I don't think they would work. Gritting her teeth, Kiore had two shuriken and a kunai out within the blink of an eye, and had flung them at Cloud - using this to disappear and reappear behind him. Can't think, her alter ego murmured, murmuring words in her mind. "Well can't you try to think a little harder!" Kiore unconciously shouted out loud. Don't panic!
DON'T PANIC?! I'm fighting the f'ing Akatsuki leader; how can I not panic! Kiore mentally screamed at herself. And she could only try to ignore the whole 'you really are insane', part. Think up a new technique without it being a jutsu, her alter ego cried - gleeful, for a reason Kiore had no idea what was. Oh, well, thanks, her thoughts were dripping with sarcasm. Hey, I tried. Kiore muttered obscenities under her breath, as she continuously tried to deal out blows to Cloud. Concentrate your chakra, she remembered Kisuke telling her - because she never had been that strong, physically, she was always so small. You need to get some more muscle, Kio, Zaraki had always joked, poking her arms. You're like a little porcelain doll, Keigo would murmur, he was always scared that he'd break her - she was too fragile. Renji would just grin lopsidedly, and say that she didn't need strength with him there.
She was sick of being the porcelain doll. Frowning in concentration, Kiore gathered chakra to her fist, and purposely punched the ground - which upon impact, shuddered the earth and literally moved it, cracking here and there. She'd seen the Hokage's apprentice use something like it, once; and the Hokage, herself. She'd heard a lot about her Mother having insane strength, too. It still needs work, Kiore huffed, getting back to her fight with Cloud - now using more speed and, the new technique she had suddenly come up with a moment ago.

Cloud dodged her kick with ease and caught th e kunai and shuriken with 3 of his fingers... He then disappeared with an amazing speed reappearing behind her he whispered in her ear and ran his gloved finger over her mouth wiping the blood off of her lip. "Interesting enough kiore-chan... Use your weapons more wisely- they may be turned against you."
Cloud took the kunai that he had caught one on each side of his hand, interlaced between his fingers and he dropped the shuriken. He then punched at her with the now chakra covered kunai... unbreakable and deadly sharp kunai. His speed was unimaginable... but he knew it would not kill her. It is extremly hard to kill one who has such great ambition.

TURNAROUND . }} and catch a falling starwish you may, wish you might[ - have that girl you dream of tonight - ] Kiore froze, sharply intaking a harsh breath - and suddenly felt cold, when she felt his unclothed chest, hard behind her. She was scared of him, with good enough reason to be. He was too close; but Kiore couldn't seem to find her wits, or limbs for that matter, in time enough to move - before he brushed his finger across her mouth, wiping away the blood. She barely heard his words, focused more on his breath against her ears. She felt like headed, then, and realized she hadn't been breathing - and her heart, had definitely increased in the amount of beats by the second. Kiore took a deep breath, and pushed away from him, oblivious to the large gash on her back that the chakra covered kunai in his hand had caused - she couldn't feel the pain, only the need to get as far away from him as possible. But that was the problem - she couldn't.
Swallowing her fear, Kiore took up her stance again, and attacked - more lethal, this time. More harsh. Frustrated beyond belief, at his power. Annoyed that he decided to take an interest in her. Pissed off because of the fact that, yeah she was scared. Hopeless, because she doubted she could touch him, much less scratch him. Thoughtful, because even though she was in battle, she still had the ability to think up a new technique. Narrowing her eyes, Kiore came at Cloud head on - at the last moment, though, she twirled to the side - landing on one hand as she tried to hook her fight where his neck and shoulder connected, aiming to push him back to the ground. Though she knew - however strong she might be considered, in her age group and over all level - that she was no match for him.

Cloud flickered behind her his kunai to her neck. "surrender kiore... Or die." He said softly. Only 2 years older then her yet the diffrent in their power was. He whispered in her ear softly as his cold arm wrapped around her neck... His speed was unbeatable... at least almost... there were those that were stronger then him. Daimon being one of those who were stronger then him.
Clouds eyes were cold blue as he waited for kiores descision. His heart beat was cold and slow. Could she move, Or would she surrender. If she did not surrender it showed disrespect but if she did surrender it showed fear. Either way Kiore was not in a good situation. Cloud was a man of his word, he would kill her if she did not surrender to him. His hair blew gently in the wind as the demon held his ground ready to tear her limb from limb.

TAKE IT ALL . }} and leave me with nothingi'm down on my knees, so don't think about it[ - because it's better then what i had in the first place - ] Yet again, Cloud was behind her - too close, always too d*mn close. Her brilliant, crimson red eyes swam with emotions; anger, confusion, frustration, fear. This man, was utterly unpredictable. "One moment, we're training... the next... you're threatening me with death," she murmured, at a loss for thoughts on the male. "What do you want?!" she cried, sinking her teeth into her bottom lip until blood pooled into her mouth. She was completely lost. He wanted one thing, and then another. And she still wasn't completely sure on his objective for taking her with him, in the first place. Taking her away from her family and friends... putting them in danger. At this moment, it was all Kiore could do to stop herself from screaming and lashing out at him; she gripped the wrong end of her kunai, unconciously. The pain was nothing, compared to her inner battle. Blood dripped from her hand, and fell into the forming puddle on the ground. The sound of it splattering against it, rang out louder then it should have, in her ears. "What do you want?" she repeated in a whisper this time. Because either way, surrender or fight, yell or scream; Kiore was utterly and completely f*cked. I'm nothing special; I'm not unique; heck, I'm not the strongest. Why choose me, when there was a whole village of ninja out there?

"You do not understand... this is the life of a murderer, the life of a monster, we all have our reasons. Perhaps when daimon kills everyone in your entire family you will regret that you did not listen to me... that you did not understand. Training and killing are one in the same, fight me to kill me or not at all. Against Daimon you will be nothing and soon h e will invade leaf and crush it. He has the power to all ready, he only waits for the right opprotunity to level it and destroy its people. Including your family. He is my enemy, But in order for you to be my ally you must be strong. If you do not fight me to kill me i will slit your throat and end your misery here kiore-chan."
Cloud said his voice cold. "It is simple to scratch a man if you have the will to do so... Go all out to kill me, Or i shall kill you. remind yourself what you fight for, cause if you dont save them No one else will. Daimon is 1000 Times stronger then me, A god in a humans body he is invincible. Do you wish for him to destroy your friends and family? The reason I brought you to akatsuki is because I knew you could help destroy him, you care for your friends you want power and you will become a killer. What do i want from you? I want you to become a killer."
Clouds voice was still cold. He turned his back on her "todays practice is over." Cloud said softly, he walked over to the nearby lake and ran the water over his face. His blue eyes still cold and uncaring.

TURNAROUND . }} and catch a falling starwish you may, wish you might[ - have that girl you dream of tonight - ] What did he expect of her? Did he suddenly think that she would jump from Chuunin to Kage level in an instant? Perhaps she held promise, but that wasn't enough for her to suddenly be able to put a scratch, let alone touch, someone of his level. It was utterly frustrating for her to try and grasp his point - and she was seriously debating whether or not this was all worth it. If it was so, and this brother of his was that powerful, then what could be done? What could she do? She wanted, oh how she wanted; to protect her loved ones. But how could she? He spoke of wanting her to become a killer; when she already was one. Every ninja was a killer, a murderer. Destined for a life of Hell. "Simple to scratch a man, huh?" she murmured in a voice that bordered on silence. Her eyes were blank; having lost that fire that use to make them utterly brilliant. "But what about when the man isn't a man; but something else?" Because she was d*mn well sure, that he was something more akin to a demon. "Will..." she scoffed, "it hasn't done much for me, in the past." Because will was hope and hope was wishing; and wishing was for fools. Wishes were false hopes for the heart, in an attempt to keep it alive.
I've never came across an opponent, that I haven't been able to slaughter, Kiore narrowed her eyes in thought, perhaps he should just kill me - and save his brother the trouble. A harsh, cold gust of wind swept throw the clearing; sending Kiore's jet black hair in a swirl of movement, dancing to the side. She didn't notice her hand, drenched in blood as it was - still gripping the kunai. Looking over her shoulder, Kiore's crimson red eyes stared at his back for a moment. Her lips parted as a sigh escaped them, and she dropped the kunai - it, piercing the ground, staying upright as blood dripped down it. "A fools dream, and nothing more," she murmured in a flat tone, and began walking in the opposite direction from where Cloud was.
ooc;; but... seriously. she's just a normal, if not a bit insane, chuunin. i doubt will would be enough for her to put a scratch on him. -snickers- maybe i should have made her stronger. -prods kio-

"Kiore... there is something I will tell you and only you, if you tell anyone I will slaughter you and your family, Im human again. My soul has returned and Now I feel, guilt... Love... Hate, I'm not the man I was when I recruited you. However the fact is Daimons hand even lies on me."
Clouds cursed seal appeared on his body, his eyes changing yellow. "My new power is not of a demon... but of daimon. It reduces my lifespan incrediably, I should be dead within 10 years roughly. Before I die, I want to make sure the one I love is safe. Kiore, I dont know why the hell I trust you... But, Ever since we met I knew you had potential not only that but you feel. Just like you, im only human." Cloud said softly his eyes still cold.
"Appearances are everything kiore, to appear strong is a great strength, When inside your falling apart... when inside your aching for death... I almost want it to come, Almost want the peace that comes with death. I will slaughter daimon first, If everyone doesnt help then we wont suceed. I need you, as well as everyone else. Train kiore-chan... become stronger and stronger and then help me save your family and your friends. Daimon will slaughter everyone in leaf unless you and everyone else helps me. We have roughly a year for you to become strong. I can train you extremly well, if you let me. If you wish to be trained. If not then you are wasting my time and need to be killed as a compromise to the akatsuki and to me. You signed up for this, Without me your entire family is doomed. Kiore understand I picked you because of your soul, not because I wanted you souless. To be a ninja does not make you souless, love is strength. I understood this even when i was souless. Before daimon killed the demon that lurked inside of me I knew that you were the one that could teach me, not I that could teach you. I had set it out in my mind for you to save us. Love is powerful, because you love your family you will help destroy the king of hell... daimon."
Cloud spoke softly, his eyes hit hers. His eyes were yellow and filled with hate yet sadness, it was the cursed seal that made him hate so much. Daimons seal of pure power and pure hate that made him strong now. He relied on it and he knew it would probally be his downfall. He showed her this form to show her how strong daimon truly was. A small seal made him stronger then he ever was when he had the demon that was feared by all.

PLEASE DON'T GO CRAZY . }} if i tell you the truthno you don't know what happened, and you never will[ - if you don't listen to me while i talk to the wall - ] Kiore was about to enhance her speed with chakra - wanting, most right now, to get away from him. Because surely within another minute of her inner battle, she would give into temptation and the screaming, shouting and yelling would start. And then her death would follow. What stopped her, however, was the beginning of his speech. First, she merely just slowed her pace gradually until she altogether stopped. Her back still facing him, Kiore listened in silence, a thoughtful expression on her face as she took in what he said; and through it all, managed to make sense of it. First problem over all, the most frightening; was the problem with Cloud's brother, Daimon. Who was supposedly much stronger then Cloud himself. That in itself were numerous problems, so Kiore tried not to think on it. Second problem, was that most of what Cloud said was true; she had to want to train and gain power. And third, though most certainly not that last of her problems; Kiore was beginning to think of Cloud as a human, and was sorely tempted to feel sorry for the poor b*stard. Turning around, Kiore hid her surprise at Cloud's new appearance quiet well, the kunoichi regarded him with an unreadable expression; before she let the mask slip back on, and she was 'Kio-chan', again. If not, a little force, Kiore flashed one of her brilliant smiles and clasped her hands behind her back.
"Well, then," she chimed, "I better get started on those theories of mine, yeah?" It might have been forced and partly fake, probably completely; but d*mn, Kiore was a good actor. Then she began babbling about her ideas for 'swords' and 'bloodline limits' like she expected him to care, though she knew better. "Ne... Sensei?" she said, after a moment of silence previously. "Do I have to worry about you killing me, every minute I'm near you?" she was grinning, but serious. Because, she found, that if it was the case... then she'd probably have a better chance, at getting stronger, with her brother or herself. "...and are there certain rules?" she asked sheepishly, "like... no emotions? No random outbursting in song? No... contact with friends?" Because Kiore was pretty sure that she'd fail for the first one. Second one, not so much. Third one... she probably needed most of all. Even if it wasn't her friends from Konoha, she still had many in the shinobi world. Neliel, Sado, Akiko and L, in particular.

"you may contact your friends kiore. As for the killing you, lets just say that when you are on the edge of a cliff you are more alert. Consider this, If I was a laid back fool who never challenged you, never threatened you. Then how would you learn. Life is fast paced, quick and deadly. If I was not here to keep you on edge you would loose your sharp senses. If a person isnt always ready to die then they become comfortable, and that comfort in our lives means death. For example Who is more likely to die against a man like me? A man who has spent his entire life hiding in fear living on edge with his blade drawn or A comfortable man who expects nothing to go wrong, a man who has been happy his entire life and has never seen death or combat. Think about it like this, there is only 2 types of people in the shinobi world. The quick and the dead. And those that die fertalize the ground around us."
Cloud smiled and walked over to her. "Ill allow you to choose... Do you want me to train you like a average sensei would or do you want Me to be here to kill you if you fail. cause If you do fail and you dont die, then your only prolonging the inevidable. Your death as well as those who trust you will come if you fail. So you choose what you want kiore." Cloud said his hand ran through the girls hair. 2 years older then her yet their diffrence in power was signifigant.
"Did you ever consider why I am stronger then you... I have only been alive 2 years longer then you." Cloud smiled his body changing back to normal and his eyes turning blue once again.His hair blew softly in the wind and he looked strange... he looked human. Normal almost, yet his chakra was still there his power was still unmatched by anyone in the vicinity. Except one man.
~~~~ A man in a black robe appeared. The man had a smile upon his face, and his raven dark hair shadowed his eyes. He looked up exposing his demonic and handsome young face. A man in his thousands and clouds older brother. Daimon was young as he had a manipulating tone about him. His eyes ran over kiore and then to cloud.
"Aww... little brother, It is cute how you go and surround yourself in girls. I wonder if you are really even training them at all. I wonder do you truly think by some means that I do not know everything you say and everything you do. I am immortal... I am stronger then any demon alive. The god of hell..." Daimon said coldly his blade drawn. He disappeared his movements untracked even by cloud and he reappeared behind kiore.
"Kiore-chan... Yes I know your name... Why do you fight by cloud? He always threatens to kill you. It is futile to fight me, so why not join me. This is your only chance, betray him and come to me, become one of the women of moon and one who serves me or I shall slice down every member of your family slowly in front of you. I am not threatening you, I am promising you."
Clouds sword was drawn but instantly he fell to the ground with 3 flaming kunais in him. They had caught on fire in the air they moved so fast. Daimon wrapped his arm around her neck. "Join me kiore-chan, join me or slowly watch you family burn..."
Daimon disappeared and reappeared in front of her his eyes hit hers. His demonic and cold eyes had a seductive nature about them. His robe blew gently in the wind and the sky darkened and the moon appeared.
"Kiore..." Cloud said softly as he passed out.
"Aww... how cute little brother, you beg her to stay. You have become so pathetic, I cant believe you sproughted from my fathers seed. Good thing the old bastered is dead. You call yourself shinobi... There is few shinobi left little brother, I will take everything you have away from you and then in the end I will make you see just how weak and patehtic you are. Rest well little fool." Daimon said laughing coldly. He turned to kiore. He was still as young and handsome as the first day he used the immortal technique. He had been using it thousands of years and though many fools copied they were all slaughtered now. Daimons eyes hit the young girls eyes.
"Do you wish to join me kiore? Or see you friends killed. I will spare them if you join, I never betray my word." Daimon said softly. Daimon was not a liar, he had never broken a oath or a promise or even lied one single time. It is not his style nor was it something he liked. All liars would die in the end.
she broke your throne, she cut your hair. from your lips she drew the hallelujah.
"Well that puts it all into a better perspective, I guess," Kiore muttered under her breath, as she listened to Cloud's words thoughtfully - considering what he said, instead of just going along with it. Though it was highly different to what she was use to, to what she preferred; Kiore could see that it would be the most effective, and given her stubborn will to not die... it would be for the best. Her alter ego, however, was having serious disagreements with Kiore's way of thinking. Shouting obscenities, yelling at her to get the f*ck out of there, already; and over all, reminding her painfully of her family. All of it causing Kiore one, large headache. Worse, still, when Cloud ran his hand through her hair - something that Kajaal always did, though he would grin a murmur, "silly little girl." Kiore pouted, and blew her now messy fringe from her eyes, "whichever will prove the most effective, yeah," she murmured, not really up for the whole 'oh, y'know, the killing me one'.
Kiore was slightly relieved when Cloud resumed his normal state, though she was slightly alarmed at the part when she realized he... he looked human. "I try not to think about it," she murmured distantly, in response to his question, "it'd probably scar my pride." Cover it up with a joke, that was her way. Because, in all truth, she hadn't even realized that he was only seventeen.
The next few moments seemed like hours, to Kiore, as she kept her eyes looked on Cloud's chest, refusing to turn around and see the person not too far from them. His chakra was sickening, choking her nearly, breaking her down. She couldn't hear his words, on the name Daimon rang through her ears. She would have been a fool, or worse, if she wasn't scared. This was the man that was stronger then Cloud, the man who wanted Konoha dead, her family with it. The man whom she was supposed to help Cloud kill. It all seemed like a nightmare. A horrible, terrifying nightmare; that she couldn't wake up from. She was only faintly aware of the fact that he had moved, and was now behind her.
"Don't do anything; don't move," a silky, velvet like voice that was purely male, instructed her. But it wasn't from the man behind her, nor the one in front. It came from in her mind.
She listened to it, and didn't move - she didn't blink, breath nor shake. She simply waited, and didn't think. Everything was too slow, though; so d*mn slow. It became harder, though, when she was actually able to hear him. Forcing herself to drag her mind over every word that seemed to take an eternity to reach her ears. A promise. "You had to make it difficult on yourself, Kio," the male's voice murmured, he seemed tired. "Making emotional bonds with people." His laugh echoed out through her mind; honey coated, moonlight laughter. She wanted to ask who he was, but she wasn't allowed. He was in control now, but only of her mind, not her body. She was still conscious - oh, God, so aware of everything; aware of the way Cloud fell to the ground with a sickening thud, of the flames that licked the kunai. Of the arm wrapped around her neck, her own small, delicate hand clutching it - but she couldn't summon her whole strength. He was in control, he was calling the shots.
Images of her family flashed through her mind. Rukia chattering away and showing her how to mend broken bones; her own small family behind her, the triplets. Orihime and Takashi, defending her in an argument with the elders; caring, protective, loving. Keigo, nodding encouragingly as he taught her a new genjutsu; his single blue, blind eye seeing nothing yet everything at the same time. Renji, asking her out for the umpteenth time; a c*cky grin on his face. Zaraki giving her lecture, about why she shouldn't date until she's eighteen; always so worried about his family, his team. Kisuke, fussing over her tendency to rush into things to quickly; 'sticking it to the old man' when she learned an a-rank jutsu, proud. Kajaal... being Kajaal. "This is all for your benefit," the male sighed, "do what you must to protect them, Kio."
Daimon was in front of her, before she got over the haze that had overwhelmed her mind - thinking, seriously, for the first time in her life that, yeah... she was insane. To one of those points of no return. She heard - so loud, it was all too loud - Cloud say her name, and then no more. What did he want her to do? What did she have to do? What were the chances, that this Daimon wasn't going to kill her once he saw the fear, revulsion, and anger? Was this some kind of f*cked up test? To see her loyalty? Something else entirely... Kiore took a deep breath, the first she had taken since Daimon had appeared in the clearing. She felt light headed, and dizzy. Sick, most of all, and dreading what would come next. The breeze seemed stronger, and louder, howling in her ears. She was staring at his chest, refusing to look up. But something in her, betrayed her, and her eyes slowly traveled upwards - and stopped to look into his eyes.
She felt like dying, she wanted to die.But she had to protect her family, right? She owed it to them, at least. The only move she made, was a simple yet clearly stating her answer, nod. Because she couldn't trust herself to speak.
